Ferienhaus Kobe in Krakow am See, in the Mecklenburg Lake District, has a separate office with a door that locks, a desk, an ergonomic chair, a 34-inch ultrawide monitor and a fibre connection. The bathing jetty on Lake Krakow is two minutes on foot — lunch break is a swim.

Is it quiet enough for video calls?
The house stands in the second row from the lake in a quiet weekend-house settlement with no through traffic and dense greenery all round. Local quiet hours are 22:00 to 08:00.
How long can I stay for a workation?
The minimum stay is 3 nights, 5 nights in high season from June to August and 7 over Christmas and New Year. There is no upper limit. From November to March the seventh night is free and stays of 28 nights or more get 25% off the nightly rate — that is when the house works best as a place to work. A washer-dryer and a fully equipped kitchen are there, so you do not need to pack as if for a hotel.
What does a workation of several weeks cost?
From November to March the seventh night is free, and from 28 nights I take 25% off the nightly rate. The direct rate is the base rate without the platform mark-up, so booking through this website is cheaper than through any portal. Electricity, water, heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and the final cleaning are included; the only extra is the tourist tax of €1.50 per person aged 18 and over per day of stay.
How do I get there without a car?
ICE train to Güstrow (20 km), then bus 248 (about 45 minutes) or a taxi (about €35). By car: Berlin about 1 h 55, Hamburg about 2 h 20.
